R-410a EPA Certification programs for installation, servicing, and troubleshooting R-410a refrigeration systems includes classes and hands on laboratory work. Typically these certification programs are intended to prepare the potential refrigerant technician for the R-410a EPA Certification Test. Once obtained, technicians have the ability to work on a variety of equipment which contains R-410a refrigerant including air conditioners, heat pump equipment, packaged rooftop HVAC systems, and other sealed systems.

R-410a EPA CertificationTechnicians will learn a variety of skills and knowledge. R-410a refrigerant systems run at considerably higher system pressures than other traditional refrigerants. These higher pressure breed efficiency when matched with WPI’s large condenser surface area design. Having the right knowledge, tools, and measuring devices will allow a skilled technician to service a R-410a chiller system with confidence. Other knowledge and skills that a technician will learn are recovering refrigerant, disposing of refrigerant cylinders, proper use of R-410a refrigerant manifold gauge sets, vacuum pump operation, and refrigerant safety.

The United States EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) has a main goal of protecting human health and the environment. By adhering to the guidelines established by the EPA, refrigeration industry technicians are doing their part in keeping the world a greener, cleaner place.
